Some of my favourite music moments in TV

The use of music in television shows can make or break an important scene and over the years there has been some amazing and memorable scenes. There be spoilers ahead, so you've been warned

Here are some of my favourite music scenes:

1. Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol // Grey's Anatomy

In this scene Izzy's finance Denny dies unexpectedly and the rest of the interns try to comfort her. Izzy admits to the Chief that she broke the rules whilst treating him and resigns from the surgery program.

2. True by Spandau Ballet // Ashes to Ashes

After three seasons of 'will they won't they' Gene and Alex very very nearly kiss. Whilst the tension ramps up they slow dance to Spandau Ballet's 'True'. If only Keats hadn't come to the door and ruined everything.

3. The Rains of Castamere // Game of Thrones

When this haunting melody (the favoured song of their enemy) is played at her brother's wedding, it is enough to make Catelyn Stark realise something is very wrong. This song is bound to give any Game of Thrones fan the chills.

I cried. ATTN: BOOK READERS/OTHER PEOPLE Do not spoil any future events from the books.

4. Alice Practice by Crystal Castles // Skins

Sid breaks down in the middle of a club when it sinks in that his dad is really dead. Tony tries to comfort him.

One of the most memorable scenes from Generation 1, Sid tells Tony about his Dad's death as Crystal Castles play.

5. Simple Song by The Shins // How I Met Your Mother

The song plays during a montage of the gang leaving for Robin and Barny's wedding. Oh and we finally meet the mother!

The ending scene of the last episode of season 8 of How I Met Your Mother. Enjoy!

6. Open Your Eyes by Snow Patrol // ER

Whilst the rest of the doctors try to save Jerry, who has been shot, a pregnant Abbey collapses. Kovac looks on helplessly.

7. How to Save a Life by The Fray // Scrubs

In one of those Scrubs moments that makes you cry, this song is brilliantly used when Dr Cox looses three patients in a row to a rare complication. Unable to cope, Cox quits.

8. The Lost Boy by Greg Holden // Sons of Anarchy

The MC and friends attend Opie's funeral.

The final scene of the episode, where the brothers say goodbye to Opie.

9. 5,000 Candles in the Wind by Mouse Rat // Parks and Recreation

Played during the Unity concert, with a special guest appearance from 'Duke Silver' himself.

10. After the Storm by Mumford & Sons // Stargate Universe

The crew deal with the aftermath of an attack on the ship. An exhausted Rush tries to sleep but can't. Young finds out TJ has lost the baby.

11. All Along the Watch Tower // Battlestar Galactica

In the season three finale, four of the final five cylons are revealed and Kara Thrace appears to return from the dead.

12. No One's Hear to Sleep by Naughty Boy featuring Bastille // How to Get Away With Murder

Annaliese takes off her wig and makeup in front of her mirror. She confronts her husband.
